"We couldn't risk or afford to have him actually have to face any deliveries in the game. If we needed two to win and he had to go on strike, I would probably have had to declare or do something like that, which would have been pretty hard. As he just said to me then, he wouldn't have spoken to me ever again as long as he was alive. [But] the risk factor there was extremely high."
