I just try to do whatever I can to win the game.

Yeah, there's always room for improvement.

Everything I played, I kind of found a way to be pretty good at. My mom always said, 'If you're not good at something, then don't do it.'

I think my senior year in high school was when I started wearing Jordans. It was our team rule that we had to play in them so that's when I got - not introduced to them, but got into it. Through the minors I started collecting some, just to wear, and that's when I told myself I want to become a Jordan athlete and did all I could to do it.

I'm just trying to affect the game in some way whenever I get an opportunity. If that's stealing a base, making a catch, beating out a double play, whatever it may be.

I just kind of want to be me.

I try and affect the game in every way.

I've been blessed with everything I have, and I might as well share it.

I'm confident in my abilities and confident to know what kind of player I am. I've also been educated on the business side of it, getting your value.

Some people kind of get lost in what everyone else is doing and not pay attention to themselves, and I think I'm one where I pay attention to myself and can set the example for the people coming up.

It's kind of tough as you're playing you kind of wonder what is going to happen to you as you go through arbitration or as you go through free agency.

Even though this is a business you do have people here that you're with every day, like your family. You want to go play for them and you want to win with them. You have to find a way to do that but understand that there is a business side to it. You have to find a way to understand.

Just because you go to free agency doesn't mean you don't want to be somewhere. It's just a part of the business.

I'm not a huge vocal guy.

I like leading by example.

No matter what I say, people are going to have their opinions and there is nothing I can do about that.

I grew up in bowling alleys.

Every year you go in and you obviously want to win a World Series, at least make the playoffs.

Even in the minor leagues, I just said I'll get my little bit of time in here and then get out of here. I was going to try, though. I wasn't going to just give up. I was always going to try. I'm here. I figured I might as well try.

The more Opening Days the better. It never gets old. It's one of those things where as it comes you embrace it, get ready, you still get those butterflies, which means you care.

When you just stand for something, you kind of stand for it.

I don't hit home runs in BP.

Every game I'm out there, we're all trying to affect the game in some way.

You don't want to sell yourself short.

Five World Series rings, 3000-plus hits, the fame, the fortune and playing for the second most historic franchise in baseball... These are just some of the reasons kids would always say they want to grow up to be just like Derek Jeter.

I can't speak on anybody else's free agencies, how that's going, but for myself, it helps to kind of be patient and let it happen.

Pretty much all bowlers are nice dudes.

Fastball middle-middle. You can't miss that pitch.

I've had long hair, I've had short hair, and I've had in between hair... and its all good.

They have a joy for life in Brazil unlike any country I've ever seen.

I tend to wear flats and jeans and no makeup and walk around, go to the grocery store, and do whatever I have to do.

When I first cut my hair short, I was trying for a mix of Mia Farrow and Jean Seberg. The photo I took to my hairdresser was Jean Seberg in Breathless. I said, 'Make me look like this.'

I always keep a little bit of Lindt or Ghirardelli milk chocolate for when I'm stuck in traffic. And I'm a big fan of Mentos during long plane rides.

Some people have strong opinions about women with short hair. They find it very masculine and severe. Others think it's soft and feminine and makes your features stand out. It can be an Audrey Hepburn kind of thing.

My mother put me on birth control as soon as I told her I wanted to go on it. I was 16. I was very young.

You don't know what love is until you meet your child.

I would love to be a Bond girl. That is on my bucket list, definitely.

I think, in general, this country makes a huge deal about nudity and not a big enough deal about violence. We're allowed to cut people's heads off on shows - but not allowed to show breasts or somebody breastfeeding or whatever. I think it's a big deal in America especially. But I think to each is own.

My hair is normally really unkempt - I'll just use my sunglasses like a headband or throw on a felt cloche by Behida Dolic in windy weather.

I'm one of those people who has a toothbrush and toothpaste with me at all times. After lunch, I'll brush my teeth in a restaurant bathroom!

I'm not always up to date on everything that's going on, but I am somewhat informed. I listen to NPR. And I actually watch Fox News, because I believe, if you just listen to the things that agree with you, you're not really seeing anything else.

All I think about is my son, my family, and my future family.

When I was 7, we moved to New York because my dad's job was transferred.

The quality and sparkle of Hearts On Fire diamonds is truly unmatched, and I am really excited to represent the brand.

I am not that savvy, to be honest. I know what I believe in, and I try to follow people who do the same.

There's really no way to plan how to play an alien.

I'd love to do a comedic film. I'd love to do a very epic Shakespearian film.

'V' had just been cancelled; I was looking for a job, and the 'Homeland' script came across my desk. I loved it immediately, although I thought it would end up being discovered gradually - a slow-burner, like 'The Wire.'

Humans have a sense of spontaneity and emotion. We have a dichotomy between grief and happiness.

I do think it is possible to be in love with two people at the same time.
