Christopher Reeve had various roles and television roles before becoming a Superman star and his successor. In 1995 he was paralyzed from the neck down following an accident on a horse. He founded the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation in 1998 to develop research on spinal cord injury. He died of a heart attack in 2004.
