Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Elizabeth is a New York University graduate; in time, and write short stories at night. Her first book was a collection of short stories called 'Pilgrims'. For some time, she has also worked with various publications such as Spin, GQ, and New York Times Magazine. Her first novel was 'Stern Men', which was published in 2000. She gained popularity after writing the memoir 'Eat To Love', and was a huge success. It has been translated into many languages throughout the world, and it has sold more than 12 million copies. The popularity of the book eventually led to Elizabeth Gilbert being named one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people. The memoir was also made into a 2010 film, which was also a huge commercial success. Elizabeth Gilbert's latest novel 'City of Girls', was published in 2019.
